Murals suddenly turn up in the towns. And not without reason! Street art livens up the space and makes it more interesting for its residents.
Thanks to the ease of availability, it has a big impact on people’s artistic awarness and helps them to associate with art without any hindrance – anytime they want. Incorporation of large format painting into the everyday surroundings – walls of the buildings – parenthatically opens up our minds to new experiences and changes our way of thinking about the towns or cities. It turns them into a huge outdoor art galleries.
W like Wieliczka” is an unusual street art project realised by two young artists:
– Kat Lam, Brooklyn muralist who was creating her works e.g. in Toronto, Ontario or Manhattan,
– Marcin Kowalik, PhD of The Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, who has been consequently expanding his painter’s imagination since many years.
We are pleased to invite you to the furniture shop 4Style wall of which will undergo a huge transformation under Polish-American collaboration. The event will take place on June 8-9. The artists will be there for you between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. Meeting Kat Lam and Marcin Kowalik will be a great opportunity to learn how creating the mural looks from backstage, to talk about both Polish and American street art and to spend time in friendly artistic atmosphere. Follow the event and soon you will know what lies behind its town-promoting name.
